Pacific Adventure Works is a US-based company specializing in products designed to maximize one's adventurous recreational lifestyle. The company firmly believes in designing the kinds of outdoor gear they themselves would use, and they have tested their products themselves on outdoor trips. With ever more consumers looking to maximize comfort while camping from their vehicle, Pacific Adventure Works developed the Hideaway Sidekick, a new addition to the vehicle camping & "van life" recreational market aimed at providing the camping, fishing and overlanding public with an innovative way to comfortably sleep on a durable and even surface while in their vehicle.



OUR APPROACH


Recognizing the increasing popularity and practicality of vehicles as spaces for sleeping (instead of tents or RVs) while on outdoor trips, Pacific Adventure Works designed the Hideaway Sidekick with specific features that cater to the needs of every type of outdoor user with a variety of different vehicle types. The primary challenge was to offer a car desk that not only provided superior strength and adjustability to support a variety of body sizes as well as the shape of different vehicle floor surfaces, but also facilitated ease of use and flexibility, allowing for ample storage space beneath the sleeping platform.


The Hideaway Sidekick is designed around five key elements, with the comfort and satisfaction of the user in mind:


  1. Made to adjust to fit a variety of vehicles: The Hideaway Sidekick is made to be adjusted, with a telescoping body and individually telescoping and adjustable legs, made to fit virtually all small SUVs, vans, wagons, large SUVs, or trucks with a flat bed or folding seats.

     

  2. Strong & durable, yet lightweight design: Pacific Adventure Works designed the Hideaway Sidekick to be strong enough to support up to 400 lbs, yet light enough to be easily carried and transported- only 14 lbs!


  3. Exped Mattress accessory: The Exped MegaMat is designed to be used atop the Hideaway Sidekick, providing ample sleeping space and comfort for a variety of sleeping types. It combines the best features of both a sleeping pad and air mattress, with 4 inches of cored foam as well as the included Top-Up Pump to add more air or by opening the valve to purge excess air for optimal firmness.


  1. Hassle-free setup and ease of use: The Hideaway Sidekick was designed to be easily unpacked and unfolded, with easy & tool-free installation. You simply fit the frame together, adjust to fit the desired length of your vehicle, then install the sleeping pad and mattress.


  1. Room for Gear Storage: There is 8.5-14.5 inches of clearance under the installed platform, making the space underneath ideal for storing further gear in order to maximize your vehicle's space while making use of the product.
