Case Study: 4D Pack Max: your all-new travel packing experience
GearLand is a US company that specializes in packing & luggage solutions for everyone, seeking to make packing more things easier and more efficient to carry.
Travelers today are looking for better ways to carry more of what matters to them, without having to worry about overstuffed, overweight suitcases that cost both extra money and peace of mind. Knowing this, GearLand developed the 4D Pack Max compression bag with airtight pouches.
OUR APPROACH
The challenge was to design a 4D compression bag that not only could provide more space for organizing compression pouches full of belongings inside, but also had a more intuitive shape (like a backpack).
Recognizing the increasing need for a better-designed bag, GearLand designed the 4D Pack Max with specific features that combine the enhanced storage capacity of a regular compression bag, but with the convenience and ease of carrying a backpack or shoulder bag.
They developed the 4D Pack Max, designed around six key elements, all designed around the convenience and satisfaction of the user:
New Design: The 4D Pack Max was designed like a backpack, making it simpler to locate pouches containing your desired items when unpacking.
Simpified Re-packing: Finding an item is as simple as unzipping the pouch, pulling it out, and then re-sealing the bag with the 4D Air Pump.
Squeezing the Unsqueezable: 4D compression bags are all about helping the traveler carry more in a smaller profile, and the 4D Pack Max does exactly that.
Home Space Organization: The 4D Pack Max is also a valuable resource for home closet space organization, as it can allow you to organize and store many more clothing items long-term inside the closet than you otherwise would.
Easier to Handle & More Efficient: The 4D Pack Max comes in 2 sizes- 50 L and 22 L, both tailored to the needs of the traveler. The easy-pull zipper handle makes opening and closing the bag simple, and the compression pouches inside allow you to isolate wet, dirty or foul-smelling clothing from clean items in the bag for easy storage.
Recycled/Recyclable: The 4D Pack Max is eco-friendly and made from recycled plastic, helping reduce the plastic in our environment.

THE RESULTS
The GearLand 4D Pack Max's Kickstarter video campaign was successful with backers, with a strong appreciation for how the presenter showed off and explained the features of the bag & pouches in detail. Some had questions about the bag sizes and colors available, as well as questions about the quality of the 4D air pump. Overall, feedback from backers on the campaign was very positive.
